Two Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 in the Quad Residence - December 14, 2021

York University is responding to two cases of COVID-19 that have been confirmed by Toronto Public Health in the Quad Residence. Toronto Public Health classifies one or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 as an outbreak and they are currently conducting an investigation, including case and contact management.

Staff in the Quad Residence are working collaboratively with York University to assist Toronto Public Health with their investigation and case management. The individuals who have tested positive along with any confirmed contacts have been contacted by Toronto Public Health as well as York’s Case and Contact Management Team and are currently following public health protocols.

To prevent transmission and risk to our community, we expect anyone who feels ill to self-isolate, not come to campus, and to contact their local public health unit, Telehealth or attending physician for direction. If any York community members experience symptoms, they should also complete YU Screen to indicate a change in their screening status.

While the disclosure of COVID-19 symptoms, testing results or other personal information are treated as strictly confidential, the University remains committed to being transparent with our community about known cases on our campuses as part of a Community of Care Commitment.
