The Welcoming YU Back Roadmap

The people of YU are at the centre of the University’s every response to the pandemic, and the Welcoming YU Back Roadmap aims to offer clear and transparent direction for students, staff, faculty, researchers and instructors for the 2021 to 2022 academic year.  The Welcoming YU Back Roadmap identifies the anticipated levels of reopening for in-person and on-campus activities at York.


Reopening Level 1 - CURRENT

Conditions:

  • High degree of caution in response to community transmission or cases on campus.

Under 30% capacity

  • Restricted building capacity and campus access by request only
  • Mostly remote delivery of courses, with limited exceptions
  • On-campus/in-person research by approval only
  • Approved safety plans required

Reopening Level 2

Conditions:

  • Moderate degree of caution in response to levels of community transmission or cases on campus.

Between 30% to 60% capacity

  • Managed building capacity and campus access for non-common spaces by request only
  • In-person/on-campus and remote delivery of courses
  • On-campus/in-person research by approval only
  • Approved safety plans required

Reopening Level 3

Conditions:

  • An improved public health situation with low to no levels of community transmission or cases on campus.

Over 60% capacity

  • Minimal restrictions for in-person/on-campus activities and events commensurate with local, provincial, and national guidelines.


The Welcoming YU Back Roadmap is complemented by a Campus Status System that supports daily operations within each reopening level.
