Shared Reading Circles


Drop-in for our featured shared reading circles planned for the following dates:

  • September 30 from 12:00 - 1:30 pm at Calumet 129
  • October 28 from 9:00 - 10:30 am at Calumet 129
  • November 18 from 12:00 - 1:30 pm at Calumet 129
  • December 2 from 12:00 - 1:30 pm at Stong 101

Pick a book, short story, or poem with the group, read a passage together (out loud or independently) and dive into meaningful conversation guided by our Book Café Co-Chairs & Facilitators!

Come by for our shared reading circles on the following dates. No prep needed, just come read and connect!

  • October 10 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at Calumet 129
  • November 12 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at Calumet 129

Bring a book (or choose one of ours), sign in at the door, grab a snack and a seat! Use a colour-coded ribbon to show if you're open to chatting or prefer quiet reading, and enjoy a cozy, come-as-you-are space to unwind with fellow readers!

To become a Book Café Co-Chair

The Book Café Co-Chair supports the planning and execution of the program by planning events, facilitating meetings, and collaborating closely with Book Café team. This is the perfect opportunity for undergraduate students, graduate students and Alumni interested in getting involved in their college community and developing key leadership skills while engaging in your favourite hobby!

  • Ability to commit a minimum of 2-4 hours per week
  • Attend bi-weekly team meetings 
  • To have completed or will complete Foundational Peer Leadership Training (FPLT)
  • Helping plan and facilitate Book Cafe events by creating presentations based on chosen books, presenting content, setting up event space and assisting with other event asks as needed
  • Occasionally consulted on website design and social media content
  • Participating and featuring on promotional material to help advertise events and programs
  • Provide administrative support by helping track data, send email updates, and maintain the eClass page
  • Other responsibilities as they come up

All undergraduate students, graduate students, and all alumni.

No prior experience is necessary.
