One of the projects incubated at the Refugee Law Lab<\/a> (Centre for Refugee Studies), The Migration and Technology Monitor\u00a0launches our first fellowship for five people-on-the-move from all over the globe. The initiative supports projects that document the impact of technology on mobile communities, as well as the transformative potential of innovative projects designed directly by people with lived experience of migration. The Migration and Technology Monitor<\/a> supports mobile communities to tell their own stories on the far-reaching effects of technologies.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veronika Matrinez, Nery Santaella, Wael Qarssifi, Rajendra Paudel, and Simon Drotti are working with us on projects at the intersection of technology and migration. Spanning from Mexico to Colombia to Uganda to Malaysia to Nepal, they will be investigating border surveillance, developing resource applications for migrant workers, and curating an archive for communities on the move, among many other plans.
