The bargaining teams for the University and CUPE 3903 have met 26 times through the two streams of negotiations currently under way. One stream is the direct negotiations occurring between the parties where Units 1, 2, and 3 proposals are being discussed. The other stream is those negotiations that are occurring with the assistance of mediator Chris Albertyn focussing on job stability and equity proposals for CUPE 3903, Unit 2.
As previously announced (https://www.yorku.ca/cupe3903bargaining/2021/04/06/collective-bargaining-update-16-april-6-2021/), in order to assist the parties in moving expeditiously towards the achievement of renewed collective agreements, on April 6 the University applied for conciliation. The University remains optimistic that through the conciliation process negotiated collective agreements are achievable and has offered a number of new bargaining dates to continue to work with CUPE 3903 to realize this goal.
In the first stream of negotiations the teams have now met 17 times and are scheduled to meet on April 19, 22, 27.
In addition, the University is waiting for a response from CUPE 3903 on the following proposed May meeting dates:
- May 5 - 12-3
- May 7 - 12-3
- May 14 - 12-3
- May 17 - 12-3
- May 20 - 12-3
- May 28 - 12-3
