Welcome to the DGK Laboratory

Research in a nutshell

The research in my group focuses in the area of bacterial infections. Infections caused by any microorganisms, including bacteria, often involve interactions among a variety of biomolecules such as, DNA, RNA, proteins, metabolites, etc. Tampering with vital bimolecular interactions in an efficient way is the foremost goal of today's medicinal efforts in treating many of the bacterial infections.

Most often than not, the scientists’ craftsmanship in inhibiting bacterial infections is countered by ‘cleverly designed’ antibiotic resistance mechanisms on the part of bacteria. They are billions of years ahead of us.
