They save lives. 🏥\n\n\n\nBuilding Evidence from Local Researchers in Conflict-Affected Communities - a webinar centered on the frontline researchers from Tigray, Sudan, and South Sudan who are building evidence in the most challenging conditions.\n\n\n\n🎤 SPEAKERS:\n\n\n\n\nDr. Akeza Awealom Asgedom, PhD: Associate Professor, Mekelle University, Ethiopia, and Community Fellow in Global Health and Humanitarianism at the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research (DI), based at York University, Canada. In addition, he is an Affiliate Scholar at The Africa Institute, Western University, Canada. Dr. Akeza A. Asgedom is a public health researcher and survivor of the conflict in Tigray, Ethiopia. Dr. Asgedom specializes in environmental and occupational health, humanitarian health, and health systems in conflict-affected settings.\n\n\n\nDr. Alsadig Suliman Hashash: General Surgery Registrar, Sudan Medical Specialization Board, Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr. Suliman Hashash is a clinical researcher from Sudan with more than 20 publications in international peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include trauma surgery, conflict-related injuries, surgical systems strengthening, global surgery, and healthcare delivery in resource-limited and conflict-affected settings.\n\n\n\nDr. Majok Philips Matiop: Surgeon and Medical Director, Bor State Hospital. Dr. Philips is a Surgeon and Medical Director of Bor State Hospital, the only referral hospital in Jonglei State, South Sudan. He’s a trainee at the College of Surgeons of Eastern, Central, and Southern Africa FCS COSECSA.\n\n\n\n\n📢 MODERATED BY:\n\n\n\n\nDr. Hannah Wild: Chief General Surgery Resident, University of Washington, Founder & Director, EXTRACCT. Hannah Wild a resident surgeon whose work focuses on improving local casualty care in low-resource conflict settings, with an emphasis on victims of explosive injuries.
