Megan Whitney
Graduate Research Assistant, Synergies of Planetary Health Research Initiative

Megan Whitney is a PhD student in Human Geography at York University. Her doctoral research addresses relationships between work and labor conditions, animal welfare, and environmental degradation. Megan holds a Master's degree in Environmental Studies (MES) from York University and an Honours Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Lakehead University. She has completed research for the Government of Canada and the Thorncliffe Park Women's Committee advocating for the rights of people experiencing food insecurity, precarious employment, and adverse impacts of climate change. Megan continues to be involved with animal welfare organizations in Northern Ontario and Thailand.
