Post

Published on June 27, 2025

On June 18, 2025, the School of Global Health proudly hosted the Global Health Class of 2025 Celebration—a special post-convocation event that brought together graduating students, their families, and faculty for a joyful and memorable afternoon.

The celebration offered a warm and welcoming atmosphere filled with meaningful connections and festive moments. Guests enjoyed a variety of activities, including lively photo opportunities to capture the day, an “advice station” where attendees shared thoughtful words of wisdom for the new graduates, and the presentation of a commemorative token from the Global Health Alumni Network to honour and congratulate members of the Class of 2025. Delicious refreshments were served throughout the event, creating a relaxed space for conversation, reflection, and celebration.

More than just a festive gathering, the event recognized the Class of 2025 as the next generation of leaders, innovators, and advocates in global health. It also played a vital role in strengthening the Global Health Alumni Network by fostering new connections and encouraging continued engagement with the York University community. Feedback gathered during the event will help shape future initiatives to support alumni and expand the network’s reach and impact.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this memorable event. A special thank you goes to our dedicated volunteer team, composed of passionate York University students and members of the Global Health Student Association (GHSA), whose enthusiasm and support were truly invaluable.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Global Health Alumni (GHA) Network Team, led by GHA Network Coordinator Radhika Jain, for their leadership and vision. Gratitude as well to Dr. Godfred Boateng, Head of the Global Health Alumni Network, for his continued guidance and advocacy. Additionally, we acknowledge Julie Hard and her team for their instrumental role in documenting the event, ensuring that the celebration was thoroughly captured.

Finally, we are deeply thankful to the Faculty of Health, the School of Global Health, and the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research for their continued partnership and generous support in bringing this celebration to life.
