Note: applicants must be eligible to participate in the Research @ York (RAY) program, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sfs.yorku.ca\/work-study-programs\/how-to-apply-for-ray-positions\">eligibility criteria<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hourly wage:<\/strong> $19 per hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hours per week:<\/strong> 11 hours per week<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> April 28, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>End date:<\/strong> August 29, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job description<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the supervision of Dr. Boateng, the Modelling Health Effects of Climate Change RAY Student (for up to 11 hours per week) will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support the \u201cEnvironmental Pollution, Climate Change and Health\u201d project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a critical literature review of existing studies on the health effects associated with exposure to extreme weather conditions in Canada.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend and actively participate in a weekly meetings held by the Global and Environmental Health Lab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a publishable paper on the health effects of extreme weather conditions in Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Analysing quantitative data in Excel, STATA and other software;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating and maintaining a structured and annotated bibliographic review of existing literature organizing resources, projects, and individuals;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing sources using reference management software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in literature reviews and participate in the writing and editing of manuscripts summarizing research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current undergraduate York student. Applicants from diverse programs of study are encouraged. The Global and Environmental Health Lab welcomes applications from all qualified individuals, including, but not limited to, women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities (racialized), Indigenous Peoples and persons of any gender identity and sexual orientation.
