Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/careers.yorku.ca\/online-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">careers.yorku.ca\/online-system\/<\/a>&nbsp;and search for the posting with the JobID.<\/p>\n<h5>Description<\/h5>\n<p>Under the direction of the Director, Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research (DIGHR), and day-to-day supervision by the Knowledge Dissemination Strategist, DIGHR, the Communications Assistant designs and writes both print and digital communications material.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Basic Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design creative materials to support research &amp; operational projects<\/li>\n<li>Develop &amp; schedule twitter &amp; facebook posts<\/li>\n<li>Update the primary DIGHR website. This includes writing News posts and Events descriptions<\/li>\n<li>Update internal activity database<\/li>\n<li>Design communications material &amp; conduct outreach to promote DIGHR events<\/li>\n<li>Stay in regular contact with supervisors and meet regularly to keep all parties informed<\/li>\n<li>Act as a representative of the DIGHR at events as assigned<\/li>\n<li>Complete other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current undergraduate York student (we encourage applicants from diverse programs of study)<\/li>\n<li>Experience writing in a professional capacity, including copywriting for web and print<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated knowledge of general design principles<\/li>\n<li>Experience with current design software, particularly Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign<\/li>\n<li>Experience with social media, particularly Facebook &amp; Twitter<\/li>\n<li>Experience with content management systems, particularly WordPress<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of and experience in HTML and CSS an asset<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Airtable an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience developing communication materials according to brand guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills: professional email\/phone correspondence, public speaking and presentation proficiency<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds\/cultures<\/li>\n<li>Excellent computer skills (word processing, email, database management, spreadsheets)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates an eagerness to learn and take on initiative<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates organizational and time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Students who are a good fit for this position are approachable, knowledgeable, and well organized.
