The SWOT Project is seeking a part-time developer to support updates, enhancements, and maintaining the SWOT web application and website. For more information, please refer to the project webpage at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safeh2o.app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.safeh2o.app\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate: <\/strong>$30\/hour + 4% vacation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: <\/strong>P\/T approximately 5 to 10 hours per week<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start and End Dates: <\/strong>Feb 10, 2020 to May 11, 2020 (renewable)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apply<\/strong>: Please submit your r\u00e9sum\u00e9 and cover letter, including past examples of relevant development projects, via the form at the bottom of this page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: Sunday, Feb 2, 2020, 11:59pm EST.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information, please contact <a href=\"mailto:dighr@yorku.ca\">dighr@yorku.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Basic Duties and Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Code and test minor enhancements and updates to the SWOT web tool in collaboration with team of open source developers<\/li>\n<li>Update content on the project webpage<\/li>\n<li>Manage and query back-end databases and build reports<\/li>\n<li>User accounts and database management<\/li>\n<li>Managing DevOps platform<\/li>\n<li>Work effectively on project teams using agile development practices<\/li>\n<li>Create applications for extracting, transforming, and storing data from other APIs<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate flexibility by acquiring new skills and taking on new tasks Attend team meetings<\/li>\n<li>Prepare reports and slide decks as required<\/li>\n<li>Stay in regular contact with supervisors and meet regularly to keep all parties informed.<\/li>\n<li>Complete other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Qualifications<\/h3>\n<h4>Education &amp; Experience<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Computer Science or related field<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience with fullstack web software development using node.js, HTML\/CSS\/JS and either relational or nosql databases<\/li>\n<li>Experience with git, Linux, agile\/scrum and test-driven development<\/li>\n<li>Nice to haves: cloud computing (e.g. Azure, AWS), mongo DB, machine learning (using Python or R), Matlab or Octave, DevOps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Skills &amp; Qualifications<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication skills: professional email\/phone correspondence, presentation proficiency<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds\/cultures<\/li>\n<li>Excellent computer skills (word processing, email, database management, spreadsheets)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates an eagerness to learn and take on initiative<\/li>\n<li>Interested in developing tech for humanitarian applications<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates organizational and time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Preference for candidates who are based in the Greater Toronto Area and are able to work on site and\/or attend regular meetings at DIGHR offices, York University Keele Campus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Supervision will be provided by Dr. Syed Imran Ali, DIGHR Fellow in Global Health and Humanitarianism.
