Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/careers.yorku.ca\/online-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">careers.yorku.ca\/online-system\/<\/a> and search for the posting with the Job ID (listed above).<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Hourly Wage:<\/strong> $16.25 per hour<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekly Hours:<\/strong> 13 hours per week<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start Date:<\/strong> May 3, 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>End Date:<\/strong> August 31, 2021<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h3>Job Description<\/h3>\n<p>Under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/dighr\/person\/idil-boran\/\">Dr. Idil Boran<\/a>\u2019s supervision, the Synergies of Planetary Health Research Initiative and Lab RAY student will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the transdisciplinary research of the Synergies of Planetary Health Research Initiative (see: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/dighr\/project\/synergies-of-planetary-health-research-initiative\/\">https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/dighr\/project\/synergies-of-planetary-health-research-initiative\/<\/a> );<\/li>\n<li>Assist with coordination of the Synergies of Planetary Health Laboratory;<\/li>\n<li>Support the international data collection and analysis team;<\/li>\n<li>Support partnership development, correspondence with partners and outreach;<\/li>\n<li>Support event and workshop organization and communication outputs;<\/li>\n<li>Support the development and submission of grant applications;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with filing, record-keeping, and reporting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Create annotated bibliography;<\/li>\n<li>Write reading reports;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in coding with the international data collection and analysis team;<\/li>\n<li>Tabulating data;<\/li>\n<li>Editing and formatting drafts;<\/li>\n<li>Correspondence with partners and workshop invitees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Type of research experience the student(s) will receive:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical thinking, project design and design thinking, problem solving, research creativity;<\/li>\n<li>Professional communication, including international and cross-cultural professional interaction and communication;<\/li>\n<li>Literature review skills;<\/li>\n<li>Skills with reading and preparing reports and grey literature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Type of training and support that will be provided to the student(s) in carrying out these research activities:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Methodological training on data analysis;<\/li>\n<li>Subject matter training on planetary health including climate, biodiversity, and adaptation to health impacts of environmental change;<\/li>\n<li>Training in subject matter (global governance, intergovernmental organizations, local and regional governance, non-profit organizations);<\/li>\n<li>Regular status meetings with your supervising full-time faculty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: inherit; font-size: 1.56em; font-weight: 600;\">Qualifications<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current undergraduate York student. Applicants from diverse programs of study are encouraged. York University is committed to a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated interest in environmental governance, global health, and global governance.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skills and experience with conducting literature reviews.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated knowledge of research methods (quantitative and\/or qualitative and\/or integrative).<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skills using York University Library resources, including search engines.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated note-taking, journal-keeping, and filing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills: professional written and interactive correspondence, public speaking and presentation.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, including international and cross-cultural communication.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated excellent computer skills (word processing, email, database, spreadsheets, forms, and slides; facility with Office 365 Apps). WordPress editing skills are an asset. Social media communication skills are an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated excellent analytic skills for understanding, sorting, and categorizing complex information.
