Give Me Your Body (Parts)

Give Me Your Body (Parts) involves audience participants one at a time. A participant enters a space provided (about 3 meters square) to digitize a part of their body using a video camera and record a one second sound with a microphone. The image is then used by a computer as the source for the generation of a 40 frame QuickTime movie. The source image is manipulated in one of 20 to 30 predefined ways. This movie is then stored with its associated sound. When the computer is manipulating the participant's image, one of a number of short 30 second musical pieces is played by another computer. While there is no participant in the digitizing space, the previously created movies are played on a television with their sound.
