SUMMARY:Planning, Implementing and Sustaining Large-scale, Long-term Research Programs
DESCRIPTION:Such projects can come with many benefits, and when done right can achieve important and high impact outcomes. At the same time there can\nbe many challenges – some of which one can predict, others which are difficult to anticipate.\nProfessor Gaetz will explore these issues from the perspective of his work on homelessness, including the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness, the Homeless Hub and Making the Shift, a Youth Homelessness Social Innovation Lab (Networks of Centres of Excellence).\nProfessor Pepler will discuss the importance of an interdependent approach to relationships and co-creation in moving research to impact based on her embedded scholarship and her leadership in the Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network (PREVNet).\nProfessor Keil will focus on effective knowledge dissemination in large research projects, highlighting strategies to engage diverse audiences,\nnavigate publishing challenges, and tackle misinformation in the digital age.\nFollowing the presentations, the session will open up for an interactive Q&A, providing participants an opportunity to engage with the presenters, share experiences, and ask questions on planning and implementing large-scale, long-term research projects.\nPanel:\nStephen Gaetz, Professor and York Research Chair in Homelessness and Research Impact, Faculty of Education, York University\nDebra J. Pepler, Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology, York University\nRoger Keil, Distinguished Research Professor, Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change, York University\n\nRegistration: Register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about\njoining the meeting.\n\n
