Dance Innovations 2021: Liminal Spaces Live Streamed Performances
The Department of Dance presents Dance Innovations 2021: Liminal Spaces
Dance Innovations 2021: Liminal Spaces features the new choreographic works of 21 fourth year BFA majors performed by students engaged in all levels of York’s programs in Dance. At a time in which we’re collaborating in-person but sharing our work with the public via livestream, Liminal Spaces focuses on this transitory moment of collective disorientation. United with the theme of Intersection explored through the Department’s events and performances for 2021/22, these choreographers investigate the overlaps, counterpoints, and margins in terms of authorship, identity, and acknowledgment. Students are guided by faculty at every level of creation, performance, lighting design and production and it is the students who collaborate to run the event.
The three series feature works by fourth year choreographers and a world premiere by Assistant Professor Susan Lee for the Department’s third year Performance class. The works are housed in our theatre space and will be livestreamed to the public Nov 30-Dec 2.
