autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The full-time Bachelor of Education (BEd) consecutive program model features:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Duration of four academic terms, from September to April&nbsp;each year\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Summer elective courses may be available (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Summer&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/edu\/students\/graduate-programs\/international-opportunities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">international opportunities<\/a>&nbsp;may be available (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10 full academic courses (60 credits)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/edu\/students\/program-based-school-practicum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">school-based practicum placements<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Option of applying to an off-campus location*<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must hold an approved degree from an accredited degree granting institution and must present a minimum overall grade point average of B (on a 14-point scale or equivalent 73 percent) based on the final 60 credits or equivalent (10 full courses, or final two years of full-time study) in an undergraduate degree program.&nbsp; The program is delivered over two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*<strong>Locations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students in the Consecutive Bachelor of Education (BEd) model may apply to participate on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/edu\/students\/bachelor-of-education-bed\/on-and-off-campus-locations\/\">Keele campus<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/edu\/students\/bachelor-of-education-bed\/on-and-off-campus-locations\/\">Catholic Education Centre&nbsp;(CEC)<\/a> or at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/edu\/students\/bachelor-of-education-bed\/on-and-off-campus-locations\/\">Urban Indigenous Education Centre (Waaban)<\/a>. Graduates of the Glendon program in&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.glendon.yorku.ca\/french-studies\/\">French Studies<\/a>&nbsp;<em>may<\/em>&nbsp;be able to apply for limited spaces with the cohort on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/edu\/students\/bachelor-of-education-bed\/on-and-off-campus-locations\/\">Glendon campus<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be advised that programs in the Faculty of Education are intended to be delivered on campus or in official offsite locations in Toronto;&nbsp;school placements can only be completed at partners school boards, which are located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teaching Certification Levels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are required to choose from&nbsp;one&nbsp;of three teaching levels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Y10<\/strong> <strong>Primary-Junior -<\/strong>&nbsp;Applicants do not choose teaching subjects&nbsp;at this level as teachers usually teach all subjects to children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Y20<\/strong> <strong>Junior-Intermediate<\/strong>&nbsp;- Applicants must choose&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/edu\/students\/bed-teaching-subjects\/\">one teaching subject<\/a> for the Junior\/Intermediate teaching level, and you must have completed at least 4 full\u2011year undergraduate courses (or equivalent) in the teaching subject selected. We will consider you for admission only if you have successfully completed a minimum of 2 full\u2011year university courses (or equivalent) with at least a B average for the selected teaching subjects by the December&nbsp;1,&nbsp;2025, deadline. If more than the required number of courses have been completed, we will calculate the average using the highest grades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Y30<\/strong> <strong>Intermediate-Senior<\/strong>&nbsp;-<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Applicants must choose&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/edu\/students\/bed-teaching-subjects\/\">two teaching subjects<\/a>&nbsp;and must have completed, or be completing, an Honours program with at least 6 full\u2011year university courses (or equivalent) in the first teaching subject and 3 full\u2011year university courses (or equivalent) in the second teaching subject.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;We will consider you for admission only if you have successfully completed a minimum of 3 full-year university courses (or equivalent) for the first teaching subject and 1 full-year university course (or equivalent) for the second teaching subject with at least a B average&nbsp;<strong>by the December&nbsp;1, 2025 deadline<\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you present more than the required number of courses, we will calculate the average using the highest grades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Question: Full year or equivalent courses?
