Last week, the Glendon Campus of York University | Campus Glendon de l’Université York hosted an engaging day exploring the deep research, collaboration, and mobility ties between French 🇫🇷 and Canadian 🇨🇦 higher education. York University has longstanding partnerships with French research institutions and is passionate towards advancing transatlantic collaboration.
The day included:
▶️ Welcome remarks from Amir Asif, VP Research & Innovation, Douglas Proctor, PhD, AVP Global Engagement & Partnerships, Marco A. Fiola, Principal of Glendon, and Bertrand POUS, Consulat général de France à Toronto
➡️ A presentation examining scientific collaboration between France and Canada from Andrea Dessen, Director CNRS Canada
➡️ A thorough overview of French research and funding opportunities available for Canadian researchers from Grégoire Dusseux, Science and Technology Officer and Salomé L. of Campus France
➡️ Jim Walker, VP International Relations Université Lumière Lyon 2 spoke on the Ontario–Rhône-Alpes consortium's (ORA) over 30 years of success on creating student exchange opportunities between France and Canada.
➡️ A panel of York researchers on their experiences collaborating with French institutions. Moderated by Samuel de Brouwer, Department of Political Science, the panel included Usman Khan, Lassonde School of Engineering - York University, Emilie Roudier, York University - Faculty of Health, and Audrey Pyée, Glendon Campus of York University | Campus Glendon de l’Université York
