The Michael Boguski Graduate Bursary in First Nations Ethnomusicology

Overview

The Michael Boguski Graduate Bursary in First Nations Ethnomusicology was established by Michael Boguski, a musician and York alumnus, who is passionately committed to the idea of culture as the cornerstone of any society. It is his hope that the funding of this bursary will lead to a greater understanding and awareness of our First Nations heritage. This bursary will be awarded to a graduate student in the Music Program, Faculty of Graduate Studies, who makes First Nations ethnomusicology their principal research focus. Strong preference shall be given to a student whose research deals with the intersection of popular and contemporary First Nations music and culture.
