York International<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

York welcomes you to our university community as a part of our 5000-strong international student population. Whether you are a current international student at York or are thinking of studying abroad, York International is here to help you enrich your education and gain valuable international experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Student Advising<\/a> \u2014 Our advisors can assist you with your questions on matters of immigration, finances, housing, employment, and social and cultural issues<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching Commons<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Teaching Commons offers specialized International Teaching Assistant (TA)<\/a> orientation sessions and workshops that address the Canadian ITA experience here at York University. Each September, ITAs have the option of choosing one of two ITA Orientation Workshops. In addition to providing resources and guidance to prepare ITAs for the Canadian classroom experience at York, these sessions will allow ITAs the opportunity to share, discuss and explore how their nationality and cultural distinctiveness can become an asset to the York learning community in their new role as an ITA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Student Clubs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

York University is home to over 300 student clubs and organizations that fall under various categories, including over 50 Cultural and Linguistic groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All student clubs and organizations are accessible in YU Connect, which offers the Co-Curricular Record, a component of the YU Connect system that tracks and logs your involvement outside of class. The Co-Curricular Record complements graduate school, internship and job applications as an official list of your involvement at York University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

English as a Second Language (ESL) Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

York\u2019s Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies offers courses designed for students who speak English as a second language (ESL). These credit courses help students improve their English and develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an academic program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
