"The Interlopers " - Directed by Andrew Volpe

Film Synopsis

Two long-standing, bitter rivals find themselves finally at peace, only to discover how little this really matters.

George and Richard live on opposite sides of a forest; a forest that both claim ownership to. An epic, through-the-generations feud between the two comes to a head on one fateful night in the fall. In an effort to settle things once and for all, each man organizes a small hunting party in an effort to catch the other trespassing. In a twist of fate, both men are felled by a tree and are forced to lie helpless next to each other, each hoping that their own men find them first. As the minutes tick by, their shared hatred begins to wane With a new perspective on things, both men realize how silly their petty argument is, and both agree that once they are rescued, there will at last be peace between the two families. After more unbearable waiting, figures finally approach. George and Richard, newfound friends, are now saved...or are they?

Casting Call

(Lead)   George/Richard

Gender: Male    Age: 40-70
Gruff, woodsmen type of guys. They are constantly furious and despise each other in a ‘Seinfeld – Newman’ type of way. Men of many experiences and yet in full possession of all faculties, George and Richard live simple lives and are tiring of this ongoing dispute. The actor should have a good sense of comic timing and might be required to grow a beard.

(Actor)   Jane/Eunice

Gender: Female  Age: 40-70
George and Richard's loving wives. They put up with their husband's grumblings but are obviously not as interested in the feud as they are. One line of dialogue. 1 scene.

(Featured Extra)   Militia

Gender: Male    Age: 20-70
Conscripted by George and Richard to patrol and guard the forest, they have to endure a rallying pep talk given to them by their less-than-inspirational leaders. The actor will be required to hold a prop firearm. 1 scene.
