With winter snow falling outside of their overheated, one bedroom apartment, Helena tells Arthur that she has slept with David, a past boyfriend. Arthur assures Helena that he doesn’t mind, and goes on to his daily routine. Helena is then visited by David outside their bedroom window. The harder Arthur works to fix the stove the harder David tries to win Helena’s heart. With noise from their neighbours building from beneath the floor, a broken oven, a lost pet chicken, a phone call from mom, and a screaming madman outside, Arthur tries to stop the chaos with one grand gesture.
