Lights, camera, York U! We’re calling on creative students to submit original, engaging videos that highlight one of our programs, what Health means to them (Connected for Health), or showcase the student experience at York University.
Whether you're capturing the energy of campus life, spotlighting a unique academic journey, or sharing what makes your program special, this is your chance to shine.

What to Create
Your video can focus on:
- A day in the life of a York U student
- A behind-the-scenes look at your program or research
- A personal story or testimonial
- A creative take on what makes your program at York U or the Faculty of Health unique
Video Guidelines
To make sure your video looks great across platforms, follow these specs:
- Aspect Ratio: 9:16 (vertical) or 16:9 (horizontal) depending on your concept
- Resolution: Minimum 1080p (1920 × 1080 pixels)
- Duration: 30–90 seconds
- Format: MP4 or MOV
- Captions: Include on-screen text or subtitles for accessibility
- Tone: Authentic, energetic, and student-focused
Tips for a Winning Entry
- Start with a strong hook in the first 5 seconds
- Use music (available on Instagram’s in-app audio library), voiceover, or text overlays to enhance storytelling*
- Keep it visually dynamic and show, don’t just tell!
- Make sure your message is clear and positive

Copyright violations can lead to takedowns or legal issues, so stick to royalty-free or properly licensed content.
