Degree Requirements

You can complete the Global Health program as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc), with Specialized Honours, Honours, or a 90-credit degree option.

The optional Health Co-op program is available to all three-degree options.

All three degrees include the same core courses in areas such as chronic disease, health determinants, global health governance, ethics, epidemiology, and research methods, giving you a strong foundation in the social, political, economic, and scientific factors that shape health locally and globally.

Review your Degree Progress Report at least once a year to ensure accuracy. If you notice any anomalies, email sgh@yorku.ca with your name, student number, and details of the issue.

Most students in the program are in Specialized Honours and complete their Practicum and Capstone during the Winter term, which limits their ability to take additional fourth year core courses at the same time.

It is strongly recommended that you complete a fourth-year core course in your third year or during the summer between third and fourth year to help balance your course load.

No. You must be registered in the Specialized Honours program, have selected a stream, and have completed all required core and stream elective courses before enrolling in GH 4601.
