*Was Global Health Policy, Management and Systems
Global health focuses on all aspects of health – healthcare, public health, and the social determinants of health – which requires an in-depth understanding of the systems in place that structure, finance, manage, and deliver health services in these areas. The role of politics, law, governance, and management in promoting and protecting global health is a key determinant of health and health equity.
In this stream, students will examine how health systems can be integrated and policies developed across sectors, including public, private-for-profit, and public-private partnerships, to promote health and prevent disease. Students explore how policymakers, administrators, and industry leaders design, implement, and evaluate programs that improve population health, with a focus on vulnerable and equity-seeking groups.
The Global Health Law, Policy and Governance Stream will allow specialized honours students to take additional courses from the School of Health Policy and Management to deepen their knowledge and understanding in various aspects of related to health policy, governance, management, and leadership.
