A Para Athlete Workshop was organized by faculty member Dr. Marnie McRoberts for the Athletic Therapy students in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science. Director of the Athletic Therapy Certificate Program, Dr. Loriann Hynes says the workshop provided "a fantastic experience to hear directly from the athletes regarding their individual injury history and recovery process, what their day-to-day to looks like, and how sport (wheelchair rugby) has positively impacted their lives."
Para athletes Travis Murao, Rio Kanda Kovac, Cody Caldwell and Eric Rodrigues attended the campus event to share their experiences, allow students a unique opportunity to perform musculoskeletal assessments on para athletes, and even take a spin in a competition chair!
