School of Kinesiology and Health Science Researchers Among the Largest Grants Recently Received from SSHRC

Michael Kalu in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science in the Faculty of Health is among other York researchers receiving the largest grants as SSHRC invests $9.3M in York-led social sciences, humanities research. Dr. Kalu has received $456,501 for research examining the needs of Black older adults and developing Afrocentric-informed strategies.

Yuka Nakamura, also in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science in the Faculty of Health has also received funding from SSHRC of $172,229. Dr. Nakamura's project is on Community and Connection: Understanding the Growth and Social Impact of Ethnic, Cultural and Religious Sport Organizations in Toronto.
