We are excited that you have chosen York Apartments as your home this coming year. Housing & Conference Services and Residence Life teams are working hard to make your experience in this living environment unique. You will have a rewarding, enriching, and fun experience in a safe student community that will positively influence your personal, educational, and social development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Information<\/strong>

York Apartments is a community where residents can live an independent lifestyle in a student friendly and family environment. It is important that everyone understands and follows the guidelines and be respectful of their neighbours so that everyone enjoys their student experience.

You are moving into a high-density apartment building which means you may experience some common issues that can arise in these residences. As such, we are asking all our residents to do their part to enhance their living experience. However, as of any residential building, especially with children living in the building, you will occasionally experience some level of noise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to moving in to your apartment, here are some important things you need to know. Please read the information thoroughly to ensure that you are ready for move-in and for the York Apartments experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Confirm Your Move-in Appointment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

To allow for proper physical distancing during move-in, a move-in appointment will be communicated to you. A maximum of two (2) persons can accompany you into your residence and assist with your move during your scheduled move-in appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once your move-in appointment has been confirmed, you will receive further instructions on how to pick up your keys. If you have any questions please contact Housing & Conference Services at apstatus@yorku.ca<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: Book an Elevator<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Please contact the Housing Office Front Desk via email (yorkapts@yorku.ca<\/a>) if you need to book an elevator key for your move-in. Our office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm from Monday to Friday except statutory holidays. Please note that you will only be given a 2-hour window to close off the elevator for your move-in once approved. All York Apartments buildings have elevators with the exception of Passy Crescent Residences (townhouse-style residences) where, depending on unit assignment, you may have to travel a couple of flights of stairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Do not hold the elevator doors open as this could result in mechanical failure.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: COVID-19 Screening<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Before you arrive on campus, you will be asked to complete the COVID-19 Screening Checklist<\/a>. If you or your guest(s) have answered YES to any one of the questions, you or your guest(s) are not to attend any York campus. You and any guests must wear a non-medical mouth and nose covering at all times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be sure to follow physical distancing procedures and directional signage at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4: Complete and Submit Your Documents<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
