Volunteer Opportunities

Join the international Engagement Champion team at York International! This volunteer opportunity is your chance to make a meaningful impact on the international student community. As a team member, you will play an important role in shaping social event content, supporting event logistics (such as set-up, catering and registration), and facilitating conversations and activities that build connections and create lasting memories for attendees.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain professional experience and develop valuable skills in communication, administration and event planning. It is an excellent addition to your resume and a great way to prepare for future employment opportunities.

Available Terms: Summer, Fall, Winter

Time Commitment: Attend mandatory training session and at least 1 monthly meeting or check-in. Commit to supporting 2 events per month (approximately 10 hours) throughout the term

Are you a fluent English speaker who wants to meet new people, learn about different cultures, and earn volunteer hours? The English Conversation Partners (ECP) Program offers you the perfect opportunity!

Through this immersive program, a Conversation Partner, fluent in English, will be paired with a Student Peer who is looking to build confidence in their English language skills. They will meet once a week during the 7-week program.

Available Terms: Summer, Fall, Winter

Time Commitment: Attend mandatory training session and at least 1 monthly meeting or check-in. Commit to supporting 2 events per month (approximately 10 hours) throughout the term

Help advance the global learning opportunities including exchanges, summer programs, global internships that are available to York University students, through intentional marketing and promotional activities. Global Outreach volunteers will promote the value of international education across campus, by engaging with students directly through classroom visits, tabling, global chats, and by facilitating information sessions. If you are interested in advancing your facilitation and public speaking skills and enjoy sharing stories about your experiences with global learning programs and/or life experiences, this position is a great fit.

Monthly Commitment: 8-12 hours
