Mental health is experienced differently based on current and prior lived experiences. As a result, international students are encouraged to explore the resources below to address the challenges and barriers they may come across during their studies.
GuardMe Student Support Program

The GuardMe Student Support Program (GMSSP) is a free support app for:
- International or inbound exchange students.
- International Visiting Research Trainees.
- Visiting scholars.
With GMSSP, you can access support anytime, from anywhere in the world, including:
- Counselling support in 140+ languages, offered by native speakers.
- 24/7 chat and phone support through the TELUS Student Health Support App.
- Self-help resources on topics like managing finances, mental health and wellbeing, building healthy habits, productivity, and more.
- Anonymous Peer Support
- App language options in English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
