Professor Emerita and Senior Scholar receives Jackie Kirk Outstanding Book Award

We are pleased to announce that our Senior Scholar and Professor Emerita Dr. Winona Giles has received the Jackie Kirk Outstanding Book Award from the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES). Dr. Giles, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and Resident Research Associate at the Centre for Refugee Studies accepted the award alongside her co-editor Lorrie Miller.

The Jackie Kirk Outstanding Book Award annually recognizes a published book that reflects one or some of the work and expertise of Jackie Kirk, primarily in the areas of gender and education and/or gender and conflict. You can read more about the award and Dr. Giles' book in the YFile article.
