Position Title: Social Media and Outreach Assistant

DUKE Heights Business Improvement Area (BIA) is an association of businesses located at the northernmost part of the city of Toronto, between Downsview Park and York University. The BIA represents approximately 2500 businesses from North York, works alongside with City of Toronto Economic Development and provides functional business development supports to its members.
The core objectives of the organization lead to-
• promoting the potential of the area to attract new investment and generate employment,
• providing support to businesses in the area,
• developing a vibrant business district suitable for new business development.
- Assist in expanding our communication reach through the BIA website and social media; contribution required, but not limited to, is content creation and assisting in the execution of communication and outreach campaigns.
- Provide support in building awareness of the BIA services among the existing and potential members of the BIA business community.
- Utilize social media to reach target audiences and develop other web-based promotions.
- Identify potential communication channels and effective methods of utilizing them.
- Maintain databases of social media contacts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Active interest in content creation for social media and content marketing.
- Ability to research and draw insights and suggestions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated business intelligence and interest in networking.
A knowledge or experience in common software or online platforms for content creation, such as Adobe suite, Canva, etc. would be useful.
