Project Title: ActiveTO initiative and urban health

Description of Research Project

The City of Toronto’s ActiveTO initiative encompasses measures such as major road closures, cycling network expansion, and Quiet Streets. Together, these actions aim to reallocate urban space to support physical activity, foster more inclusive public environments, and promote population health and well-being. This project examines how these city-led actions operate in practice and assesses whether, and through what mechanisms, they may reduce or inadvertently reproduce inequalities in health and wellbeing.

Support participant recruitment and scheduling of qualitative interviews with community members and initiative users. Conduct qualitative interviews, following approved ethics protocols. Assist with transcription, data cleaning, and preliminary thematic coding of interview data.
