Please note this information pertains to LA&PS faculty and staff only.
Discover York Academics (DYA) is an electronic curriculum vitae (eCV) tool for faculty, librarians and archivists to centrally host their academic and professional accomplishments in one online profile.
The Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) is transitioning to York’s University-wide platform, which will replace the current LA&PS Faculty Profiles & Directory by year-end, though Faculty Profiles will still remain available for modifications until then. Instructions on editing Faculty Profiles are available on Faculty Profiles Quick Guide.
Discover York Academics (DYA)
Why this transition matters
DYA brings everything into one place, making it easier to keep your faculty profile up to date. It supports research and grant applications with automated CV generation, while giving you full control over what information is public or private. It also aligns LA&PS with York’s broader Web Optimization and SEO strategy—improving consistency, boosting visibility, reducing duplication, and ensuring faculty information is managed centrally across York systems.
DYA also helps showcase faculty expertise within the university and beyond, making it easier for students, researchers, media, and partners to find York experts across disciplines.
How this impacts you
All LA&PS faculty already have a private DYA account with some information, such as courses taught, pre-populated by the University. You can control what appears publicly using visibility settings. All data is stored and processed within Canada and complies with applicable privacy legislation, including FIPPA.

Next Steps for Your Profile
To get started with your DYA profile, follow the steps outlined below:
- Log into Discover York Academics (DYA) and familiarize yourself with the system.
- Add your ORCiD ID to enable automatic syncing and reduce duplication of research outputs across systems (see Instructions for connecting/claiming your ORCiD).
- Claim your research outputs. Completing Step 2 will sync your DYA profile with publicly available outputs from linked external profiles, saving time on manual entry. You can review and either claim or reject each item in your DYA profile; these selections can be changed at any time (see the Research Outputs – Auto-claiming video).
- Cross reference publication claims against your LA&PS Faculty Profile.
Fill out the LA&PS eServices Migration Form for assistance.
Note that ORCiD synchronization only imports publications available through online databases and may not include all entries listed in your LA&PS Faculty Profile or capture details such as your photo, overview, awards, projects, and some publications.
