AP/FR 1004 3.00

Building Fluency in French (CEFR A2)

* As of Summer 2026

This course, which brings students up to a high CEFR A2 level, helps students to develop greater fluency in real-time interactions while further expanding their reading and writing abilities, and grammatical and cultural knowledge. This course does not count towards the degree requirements for students majoring or minoring in French Studies.

This course focuses on building fluency and an ability to speak and react while developing grammatical concepts that enable students to express themselves with greater precision and nuance. Using a variety of verb tenses, pronouns and common logical connectors, students learn to express opinions on a range of situations. They gain the ability to follow clear and simple discussions either with individuals or in recorded media and broaden their cultural awareness through the discovery of the global Francophonie.
