Modern Quebec Literature
The course is intended for students who wish to become familiar with 20th century modern Quebec literature. Through the study of major representative works, it explores the themes of modernity, “américanité”, and multiculturalism that marked this period and remain relevant today. Lectures, workshops, presentations, and discussions that encourage active learning give students the opportunity to quickly grasp the unique nature of this literature, its importance to Canadian culture, and its influential place in Francophone literature.
