On April 23, Toronto Life published an article “Trump’s Loss, Toronto’s Gain” featuring interviews with professionals working in the areas of science, law, academia, the arts, tech and other fields who have decided to relocate from the United States to Canada following Trump’s re-election. Three York professors, two of which were from the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, were featured in the article, discussing their reasons for relocating to Canada.

Professor Robert W. Gehl from the Department of Communication & Media Studies admires Canada’s tendency to think critically about corporate social media platforms and feels Toronto’s media studies is the best in the world.

Professor Jack Rozdilsky from the School of Administrative Studies discusses his work in disaster and emergency management, Trump’s damaging actions, and the future of this field in Canada.
