
York University held its annual Research Awards Reception on April 30, celebrating the work of more than 70 faculty members across a range of disciplines.
Professor Carmela Murdocca from the Department of Sociology was awarded The President's Research Impact Award (PRIA) for her work examining socio-legal legacies of racial injustice and incorporating reparative justice practices in law and policy. This award recognizes full-time, active faculty members whose body of research or scholarship has made a notable impact on communities, individuals, public policies and more. Professor Murdocca’s work is part of the valuable impact that York University faculty are making through their research; her advocacy has influenced constitutional jurisprudence and discrimination law.
