Professor Gehl discusses numerous problems with the way students are using GenAI technologies, including more instances of academic dishonesty. It is also more difficult for the professors who are teaching, grading and educating students. Gehl says the widespread use of these technologies is preventing students from learning to think and write critically. Additionally, he says that inconsistent rules around using GenAI technologies also creates issues.
