Professor Ali Asgary has developed an app called MotoAI in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The app, which launched on May 28 during the 8th UN Global Safety Road Week, uses a generative AI model to help assess risk for motorcyclists based on a list of factors like vehicle features and road conditions. The app delivers personalized safety reports to motorcyclists, giving them actionable recommendations. In addition, it gives data to policymakers and urban planners to help improve road safety, and to researchers and insurance companies to analyze trends.
