The annual Philosophy Graduate Students Association (PGSA) conference, which took place on April 12 and 13, focused this year on Bioethics and Applied Philosophy. The 15 student presentations discussed a wide variety of provocative topics, including the use of animals in biomedical research, transhumanism, and environmental authenticity, among many others.  The external keynote was given by Matthew Liao (Center for Bioethics, NYU), on "The Moral Status and Rights of Artificial Intelligence." The internal keynote was by Regina Rini (CRC in the Philosophy of Social and Moral Cognition), on "An Existential Argument against Human Genetic Tailoring."
