"Education in sociology taught me to understand the phenomena one confronts in the execution of one's work. To have a framework to address the issues at hand. To have context to explain both the phenomenon which informs the issue and the framework which suggests the solution at hand.

I encourage future students to be curious; ask questions. Talk to your professors and other faculty. Hold a book, and read it too. Use the resources of YorkU, if only to walk a nice path on a lovely day."
