On April 25, 2017, the Criminology Society at York (CSY) received the 2016-17 Outstanding Overall Contribution to Student Experience Award at the 7th Annual LA&PS & SCOLAPS Celebration of Student Engagement, Leadership & Volunteerism.

This award was bestowed on the CSY for their continuous contribution to the enrichment of the undergraduate student experience in the Department of Social Science, as well as in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. The association, known for its vibrant and energizing ways, facilitates events that engage students both academically and professionally. By offering opportunities to students for networking and professional development, CSY actively contributes to creating and maintaining a culture of peer support in the Criminology Program.
