Congratulations to Megan Davies on being named a 2021 History of Medicine Grant awardee from AMS Healthcare for her “Deinstitutionalization in the Netherlands: A Memory Project”. 

Deinstitutionalization in the Netherlands: A Memory Project will involve collaborative work with former patients, family members and community advocates of the late shift from institutional to community provision in the 1980s. Using a methodology developed over the last decade by researchers at the Madness Canada/ folie Canada website, the project will bring together oral history, art-craft memory work and research-participant reflections. Part of Davies' work as a Fall 2022 Senior Fellow at Descartes Centre, Utrecht University, will be the first exhibit in the new Global Portal on the Madness Canada site.
