Humanitarian crises, causing or threatening mass deaths, include environmental disasters, famines, epidemics, mass persecution and displacement, genocide and war. Reactive, reconstructive and preventive humanitarian action and its organizational forms and context are examined in relation to the descriptive and causal analysis of crises.
