Academic Advising

We are here to help you succeed! Do you have questions about your degree requirements, a specific course, student services on campus or the best way to get into a degree program? If you have any concerns about accessing the courses and services you need, we are here to help. Our advising appointments allow you to chat with an advisor who can lead you in the right direction, answer these questions and more.

How to book an advising appointment:

You can book an advising appointment by calling the School of Social Work main line at: 416-736-5222 or email laps@yorku.ca.

An Academic Advisor is able to provide clarification, motivation, and direction to BSW students in making positive academic choices.

Book an appointment if you are a current BSW student looking to:

  • review course selection in relation to completing your degree requirements;
  • discuss academic standing or petitions;
  • learn more about the options available to you in your studies; or
  • develop an academic plan for graduation

Current BSW students may also contact lapssowk@yorku.ca for assistance regarding the Direct-Entry and Post-Degree BSW programs.

Are you a new student? New students have received an offer of admission but have not begun their first term of classes. Please visit our new students webpage to find the information you need for enrolment and next steps.
