The Jan Rehner Prize for Writing is open to all students registered in courses offered by York University's LA&PS Writing Department. Once each year, a winner and a runner-up will be chosen for each year level (1000, 2000, 3000, 4000) and also for Major Research Papers (if applicable). The winner of each category will be eligible for nomination for the equivalent level of the LA&PS Essay Prize. Winners/Runners-up will also receive an official transcript note and the opportunity to have their essay published online and permanently available on York's website. A static URL of this faculty-reviewed essay will remain easily accessible to those considering applications for graduate and professional studies.
