We are extremely proud of our students. They come from a diversity of backgrounds – and they come to York ambitious to succeed and to make their mark on the world. Some are the first in their family to attend university or are new to Canada, and many have limited resources to fund their studies. Your support for these awards, which reward academic excellence, allow LA&PS to assist and recruit students to participate in our outstanding programs.
LA&PS Aspiration Awards
Student retention is one of our top priorities. The Aspiration Awards increase graduation rates by focusing on students who have improved their GPA during their undergraduate degree, and who have financial need. The support of alumni and other donors helps ensure we can always assist these outstanding students.
Supporting International Students
Talented, motivated students from 178 different countries enrich our campuses by bringing their experiences and culture to bear on their learning. But many of our international students have limited resources, and struggle to meet their financial obligations due to the high costs of living in Toronto. Giving to this program allows them to study at York and focus on their education.
Graduate Student Recruitment Awards
Receiving a financial award at the time of acceptance can make the difference between a talented graduate student candidate coming to York or going elsewhere. Strategic graduate awards help us recruit the students we want to join our graduate programs.
