Vanier College Productions (VCP) is excited to continue with the first-ever BIPOC Artist Hub at York University. Open to all BIPOC artists (theatre, dance, music, film, visual art, design, writing, etc.) at York, the group meets every Tuesday from 4:30-6:30pm. Now in its fifth year, join us for discussions, creative collaboration, and help bring our annual showcase to life.
Since September, students from VCP’s BIPOC Artist HUB have been working towards bringing this art installation to life, this year focusing on the theme of LOST/FOUND.
New this year, patrons and audiences can get an exclusive look at the featured art exhibits, in advance of the showcase! From Jan. 13-31, stop by Vanier College, Room 001 between 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday, to catch all the amazing artwork on display.

The BIPOC Artist Hub is proudly led by VCP alumni Alex Jyn-Li Cairns Celebre (she/her), a voice over actor, host, director, and producer based out of Toronto. With a BFA in Theatre from York University and a Diploma in Broadcasting from Durham College, Alex has worked on both sides of the camera telling stories since 2017. Currently a producer/host on TSN’s The Shift and the In-Arena Host for the Toronto Marlies, she loves working in sports media, sharing meaningful stories and engaging with community.
Alex is Chinese and proud to represent the mixed-race voice in the industries she works in. She is passionate about amplifying BIPOC and LGQTQ2S+ voices and hopes to continue to share her love of storytelling with the students at York.
