Deputy Provost’s Office

The Deputy Provost’s Office oversees the strategic direction, administration, and academic programming for York University’s Markham Campus. Dr. Gordon Binsted is the appointed Deputy Provost, Markham Campus and reports into the office of the Provost & Vice-President Academic. Dr. Binsted brings a wealth of academic knowledge and experience from leadership roles at the University of British Columbia. Under the Deputy Provost’s leadership, the dedicated Markham Campus team is poised to provide a unique student experience focused on the emerging talent, research and innovation needs of York Region and Ontario.

Situated in the fastest growing region in Ontario, York University’s Markham Campus will offer students innovative, relevant, job-ready academic programming and research opportunities focused on creative technologies, entrepreneurship and innovation management, digital technologies, new media and communications, financial technologies, and computer science and software development. The new campus is also an opportunity to further strengthen the University’s contributions to the social and economic well-being of communities in the surrounding York Region and beyond.
